CUD (WEIHAI) SHIPYARD CO. LTD. is a subsidiary of Shandong Xinhong Group Co., Ltd., established in 2010. The shipyard is recognized as the largest fully privately owned ship repair and conversion facility in China. Located on the east coast of the Jiaodong Peninsula by the entrance to Bohai Bay, the yard operates as a modern marine engineering base integrating ship maintenance, modification, and manufacturing.
The shipyard covers an area of 440,000 square meters and operates two large graving docks capable of accommodating vessels up to 300,000 DWT. The facility is equipped with heavy-lift cranes ranging from 40 to 80 tons, three slipways, and over 3,000 meters of quay berth. Total capital investment is approximately RMB 1.2 billion (approx. USD 175 million). The yard benefits from state-class open port status and operates year-round as an ice-free port.
CUD employs approximately 450 direct staff, including 150 technicians and management personnel, supplemented by approximately 1,500 subcontractors. The shipyard holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, and is additionally certified by CCS and DNV GL.
