QINGDAO BEIHAI SHIPBUILDING HEAVY INDUSTRY CO. LTD is one of the large key-shipyards under the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), and is engaged in the business of shipbuilding, ship-repairing, conversion, building of and repairing on off-shore projects, building of large-size steel structures, designing and building of GRP boats and relative davits.
Ship-repair Branch of Qingdao Beihai has obtained an international reputation for its quality of workmanship in the ship repair & conversion sectors and has established perfect relations with shipping companies/ owners from many countries, i.e. Greece, Japan, Norway, Korea, UK, USA, Italy, Thailand, India, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. Classification societies such LR, GL, DNV, ABS, NK, BV, KR, RINA, IRS, CCS have established their offices in Qingdao.
In accordance with the developing strategy of CSIC and the municipal developing program of Qingdao city, the company has moved to Haixiwan of Qingdao Economic and Technical Development Zone and began to build Haixiwan Shipbuilding & Ship-repairing Base. The Ship-repairing Branch of Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., being one of the ten big ship-repairing shipyards in China with 1,000 employees ( including 180 middle and high degree technical personnel) and having its own tug boats and pilots, can undertake :
- Afloat repairs for BC, tanker, RO/RO, passenger & container vessels up to 500.000 DWT
- Dock repairs for BC, tankers, RO/RO, passengers & container vessels up to 300.000 DWT
- Conversion of BC, tankers, RO/RO, passengers & container vessels up to 300,000 DWT
- Offshore engineering repairs
Shipyard is approved for quality management system of ISO9001, ISO2000, and being on the way of achieving the certificates of OSHMS and ISO14000.

ChinaCSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (QBS) is a major state-owned shipyard operating under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, located in the Haixiwan area of Qingdao, Shandong Province. With approximately 3,000 employees, the yard offers comprehensive services spanning newbuilding, ship repair, conversion, and offshore engineering. QBS has established itself as one of CSSC's flagship production facilities, with infrastructure investments raising its annual production capacity to 4.68 million DWT.
The shipyard's maximum vessel dimensions reach 530 meters in length, 125 meters in width, and 14.1 meters in draft, enabling the construction and repair of the world's largest vessel classes. QBS has delivered an impressive portfolio including VLCCs, VLOCs up to 400,000 DWT, Capesize bulk carriers, and container ships up to 5,500 TEU.
