PSC Tema Shipyard Limited
PSC TEMA SHIPYARD LIMITED is the largest ship repair and maintenance facility in West Africa, located within the Port of Tema in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The shipyard was originally constructed in 1967 by the Government of Ghana to service Ghana's fishing and merchant fleet, and was subsequently privatized. It is currently operated by a joint venture between Grup Servicii Petroliere S.A. (GSP), a Romanian offshore drilling and marine services company, and the Government of Ghana through Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
The shipyard is equipped with two graving docks: a large dry dock capable of accommodating vessels up to 100,000 DWT (277.4m length, 45.7m breadth, 9.2m depth), and a smaller dry dock for coastal and fishing vessels up to 10,000 DWT (106m length, 12.5m breadth). The facility also operates a slipway with 150-tonne hauling capacity for small craft and boats. Total quay frontage includes a 245-meter fitting-out quay and a 120-meter deep-water berth.
PSC Tema Shipyard provides a full range of services including dry docking, hull repair and blasting, steel works, pipe works, mechanical and electrical engineering, tank cleaning, and emergency repair. The yard serves commercial vessels, offshore rigs, naval ships, and fishing vessels operating along the West African coast.
