YIU LIAN DOCKYARDS (HONG KONG) LIMITED was established in 1964 and is the largest ship repair yard in Hong Kong. A wholly-owned subsidiary of China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. (CMIH), the yard operates two sites on Tsing Yi Island, with a combined total area of approximately 130,000 square meters, including 15,000 square meters of well-equipped workshops and over 912 meters of repair berths. The facility is capable of handling vessels up to 305 meters in length, 45.8 meters in beam, and 9.0 meters in draft.
The Hong Kong yard is equipped with two floating docks: a large No. 3 Floating Dock with a lifting capacity of 46,000 tonnes accommodating vessels up to 180,000 DWT, and a smaller No. 1 Floating Dock with a lifting capacity of 12,000 tonnes for vessels up to 35,000 DWT. Crane infrastructure includes two 40-tonne cranes, four 30-tonne cranes, one 10-tonne crane, and two 5-tonne cranes. With over 60 years of experience and approximately 600 repair division personnel, Yiu Lian undertakes a wide range of work including annual and special surveys, damage and emergency repairs, and sophisticated conversions for all types of vessels.
